Frank was born in Baltimore, before the Palma family moved to Philadelphia, where Frank grew up and attended Bishop Neuman High School.

Frank was working for a center city mail order firm when he received his draft notice from the Philadelphia Local Draft Board #120. Frank was drafted into the Marines 4 March 1966.

Upon arriving in Vietnam Frank was assigned to Mike Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division, where he was the Radioman for the platoon he was with. Frank died of a gunshot wound penetrating his left side from enemy rife fire, when Mike Company led the assault on Hill 881S.

Frank was married and served his country for 1 year, 1 month and 26 days and was KIA #11,714.

Tour of duty date unknown.

Frank was 25 years, 11 months and 2 days old.

"Frank was a hero long before Vietnam, "said his wife. Everyone's life he touched was a little happier. When he died, his hopes and dreams vanished and so did mine."

Survived by his widow, Jo-Ann Palma of 1339 Reed St, Philadelphia, PA.

His stepfather and mother, Mr. & Mrs. Louis Palma, his sister, Raffaela and his brother, (name unknown) of 808 S 7th St, Philadelphia, PA


His natural father Ralph Palma was deceased.
