Frank was born in Baltimore,MD.The Palma
family moved to Philadelphia,where Frank
grew up and attended Bishop Neuman High
Frank was working for a center city mail order
firm when he received his draft notice from the Philadelphia Local Draft Board #120.Frank was
drafted into the Marines 4 March 1966.
Upon arriving in Vietnam Frank was assigned
to Mike Company,3rd Battalion,3rd Marine
Regiment,3rd Marine Division,where he was
the Radioman for the platoon he was with.
Frank died of a gunshot wound penetrating his
left side from enemy rife fire,when Mike
Company led the assault on Hill 881S.
Frank was married and served his country for
1 year,1 month and 26 days.KIA#11,714.
Tour of duty date unknown.
Frank was 25 years,11 months and 2 days old.
"Frank was a hero long before Vietnam,"said
his wife.Everyone's life he touched was a
little happier.When he died,his hopes and
dreams vanished and so did mine."
Survived by his widow;Jo-Ann Palma of 1339
His step-father and mother;Mr & Mrs Louis
Palma,his sister;Raffaela and his brother;
(name unknown)of 808 S 7th St,Philadelphia.
His natural father;Ralph Palma was deceased.
