Hiram Alexander Wolf ran a still house and grain mill at Wolfsville, Frederick County, MD., and carried mail on foot from Lantz to Wolfsville. He was a pacifist and paid $300 for a substitute to serve for him in the Civil War. Son of Daniel Wolf and Catharine (Hauver), married Mary Ann Gordon daughter of John A. Gordon and Margaret (McClain)
