GEORGE R. HOWE
GREENWAY -- March 22 -- George R. Howe, aged 10 years and 4 months, only son of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Howe of this place, died from Bright's disease after a long illness at the home of his parents at 11 a.m. on Sunday. In the death of George R., commonly known as "Billy" by his playmates and friends, the community will miss a bright and loving boy, who, once known, impressed himself deeply into the heart. During his illness he exhibited great patience and fortitude, always looking on the bright side and giving words of comfort and courage to his parents. One very noticeable feature when in health was the love and devotion manifested by the boy for his aged and almost blind grandmother, Mrs. S. J. Howe, In her walks, he found great pleasure in acting as her escort and guardian. He loved his Sunday School, which he attended regularly, and many a pleasant talk about the lessons was had with his grandmother. Besides his parents he leaves two sisters, Sarah and Marion. A large number of friends and relatives extend sincere sympathy to the bereaved family. The funeral will be held at the family residence on Wednesday, March 24, at 1 p.m. with interment in Verona.
