He was born Jan. 26, 1922, in Ogden, Ill. to late William Henry Richards Sr. and Josephine Green Richards.
He was a World War II Navy Veteran, a U.S. Steel Coal Washing Operator and a member of the American Legion Post 88 and the VFW of Williamsburg.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillie Lee Richards.
He is survived by his stepdaughter, Linda L. Donato, of Cypress Texas, and her three daughters: Sherri, Vicki and Charlie.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at 2 p.m. at the Pine Hill Cemetery with Rev. Larry Day Officiating, with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 88.
