July 22 1926 - Carroll Times - Anton Nieman passed away at the St. Anthony hospital Friday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock after a long illness. Nine years ago he was kicked in the abdomen by a horse from the injury cancer developed which was the cause of his death. For six years he had been in poor health and for the last two and a half months had been a patient suffered at the St. Anthony hospital, where everything possible was done to ease his sufferings. He had sought medical advice in various places but his condition was such that recovery was impossible.

Mr. Nieman was the son of the late Frank Nieman and Mrs. Frank Nieman of this city and was born February 12, 1883. After reaching young manhood he followed the occupation of farming until his health forbade. He was a devout Catholic and a member of the S.S. Peter and Paul church. The funeral was held fron the S.S. Peter and Paul's church Monday morning at 9 o'clock.

Besides his mother he is survived by three brothers and one sister namely Henry Nieman of Carroll; Joe Nieman of Omaha; John Nieman of DeSmet, S.D., and Mrs. Ray Dangel of Los Angeles, Calif. His brother, Joe Nieman of Omaha arrived to attend the funeral.
