July 25, 1918 - Carroll Times - Frank Neppl, who has been seriously sick for several months, died at the hospital Sunday afternoon, July 21. The cause of his death was cancer. The funeral was held Wednesday morning at S.S. Peter and Paul's church, his brother, Father Elvis Neppl, of St. Louis, officiating, assisted by his nephew, Rev. Jos. Neppl.
Mr. Neppl was born in Arnbruck, Bavaria, Germany, February 24, 1862, and came to America about forty years ago settling in Roselle township, Carroll county, Iowa, where he made his home until six years ago when he moved to this
city.
He was married twice and is survived by his second wife and ten children, six boys and three girls, there being seven children by the first union and three by the second. Mr. Neppl was a good citizen and highly respected in the community and his death is mourned by his relatives and friends.
