Walter was the son of Tim and Nannie McWilliams Grimes, the husband of Jeffie Hughes Grimes and the father of Ardell and Rena Hill Grimes.
•Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at the residence on Rarick Ave. for Walter Grimes, 56, a Nicholasville garage man, who died Tuesday at his home after a two-day illness.
He was a veteran of World War I, and the son of Mrs. Nannie McWilliams Grimes, and the late Timothy Grimes. Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Jeffie Mae Grimes, two daughters, Mrs. J.D. Miller and Mrs. W.G. Owens, both of Nicholasville; one sister, Mrs. Ralph Hankins, Cincinnati; and three grandchildren.
Rev. R.H. F. Anderson, pastor of the Arlington Christian Church, Lexington, officiated and burial was in Maple Grove cemetery. Pallbearers were Pink Dean, Clark Wagner, Elbert Wardlow, Donald Corman, William Riley and W.F. House.
