| Birth: | Jul. 23, 1946 | | Death: | Sep. 23, 1985 | Larry Shue has acting credits on the stage, on television, and in film. He is best known, however, as the playwright of the comedies "The Nerd" and "The Foreigner". Both were huge successes on Broadway, and Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) popularized the title role of "The Nerd" in England. Both plays are now mainstays of community theaters all across America. Larry died on September 23, 1985 at the age of 39 in a commuter plane crash. Theater lovers everywhere lament that the career of this young genius was so tragically cut short. Ironically, there is a monologue in "The Nerd" in which a character describes a scary commuter flight.
