| Birth: | Dec. 1, 1879 | | Death: | Apr. 26, 1930 |  Songwriter. She was born in Goodrich, Hickman County, Tennessee. She wrote or co-wrote over four hundred songs, short stories and poems. Many of her writings appeared in early twentieth century periodicals. In 1909 she wrote her first major hit song, "Meet Me in Dreamland Tonight". This song was made famous in 1949 when it appeared in the movie "In the Good Old Summertime". In 1910 she wrote the lyrics to her most popular song, "Let Me Call you Sweetheart". It is recognized as one of the all time sheet music best sellers and was honored by the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2001. She died in Nashville. (bio by: Bigwoo)
