Mrs. Margaret F. (Coughlin) O'Brien, widow of Merritt J. O'Brien of 45 Middle St., Florence, died Wednesday at Cooley Dickinson Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Manchester, England, daughter of Lawrence and Mary (Sullivan) Coughlin, she had lived in Florence most of her life. She was a member of the Catholic Women's Council of Annunciation Church, Florence. She leaves a son, Howard J., a member of the Massachusetts State Police stationed in this city; two daughters. Mrs. John T. Meehan of Leeds, and Miss Rita O'Brien at home; two brothers, Howard J. and Francis Coughlin both of Florence; four sisters, Mrs. Frank Shaughnessy of this city, Mrs. William Bray of Lenhartsville, Pa., Miss Florence and Miss Alice Coughlin both of Florence; four grandsons, two nieces and two nephews. The funeral will be at the John F. O'Connell funeral home Saturday at 9:15 a.m., with a requiem high mass in Annunciation Church at 10. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Calling hours at the funeral home today and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m.
