Actor. Musante, who attended both Northwestern University and Oberlin College, worked as a schoolteacher before making his off-Broadway acting debut in 1960. Three years later, he played a switchblade-wielding juvenile delinquent in the hour-long TV drama 'Ride With Terror' which later developed into the 1967 film 'The Incident', with Musante repeating his role and winning several festival awards as a result. Among other American and Italian films he appeared in were 'Once a Thief' (1965), 'The Detective' (1968), 'Metti, una Sera a Cena' (1969), 'The Last Run' (1971), 'Il Caso Pisciotta' (1972), 'Eutanasia de un Amore' (1978), 'The Pope of Greenwich Village' (1984), 'The Repenter' (1985), 'The Deep End of the Ocean' (1999) and 'The Yards' (2000). In 1973, he starred as New Jersey cop Dave Toma in the television series 'Toma'. When he left the series over creative differences after a single season, the program was retooled as 'Baretta', with Robert Blake in the title role. Among TV shows the twice Emmy-nominated actor appeared in were 'The Alfred Hitchcock Hour', 'The Fugitive', 'Marcus Welby, M.D.', 'The Rockford Files', 'Medical Story', 'Police Story', 'The Equalizer', 'Night Heat', 'Nothing Sacred' and also had a recurring role on the popular daytime soap opera 'As The World Turns'. Musante died of complications following surgery.
