DAVENPORT - Shirley L. Groves, of Davenport, died Monday, Aug. 31, 1998, at her home, after an extended illness. Services will be 10 a.m. Wednes day at McGinnis, Chambers & Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Davenport. Visitation is 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Shirley Woods was born Aug. 30, 1939, in Bettendorf. She married Oron Groves in 1959 in Monmouth, Ill. He preceded her in death. Memorials may be made to the family. Survivors include daughters, Christine Hendricksen and Brenda Jewell, both of Davenport, Shelly Carr, Bettendorf, and Pam Haussmann, Lowden, Iowa; a son, Randy, Davenport; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her father and stepmother, Robert and Della Woods, New Boston, Ill.; sisters, Bev Burroughs, Davenport, and Cathy Olinger, Cambridge, Ill.; and brothers, Joe Woods, Davenport, and Dan Woods, Osborn, Ill.
