Mrs. Leila Gay Parham Human, 98, of Bowman, died Sunday, October 27, 2002.
Mrs. Human was born in Madison County on November 22, 1903, a daughter of the late William Monroe and Mary Jane Powell Parham.
She was a homemaker and the oldest member of Mill Shoal Baptist Church. Mrs. Human was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie M. Human, two sons, William (Bill) Human Sr. and Leroy Human, a grandson, Russell Brown, and brothers and sisters.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, in the chapel of Pruitt Funeral Home, Royston, with the Revs. Randy Smith and Cecil Loftis officiating. Burial was in the Mill Shoal Baptist Church cemetery. Mrs. Human's grandsons served as pallbearers.
Survivors include two sons, Arnold Human, Greenwood, S.C., and Seaborn Human, of the home; three daughters, Jane Hall, Elberton, Carol Brown, Vanna, and Shirley Pearson, Royston; two sisters, Odie Lee Bryant and Nellie Sue King, both of Royston; 18 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, nine great-great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
