James E. "Jay" Wilson, Jr., 65, of Box Elder, South Dakota, passed away on Monday November 25, 2013 at the Rapid City Regional Auxiliary Hospice House. He and his wife Molly were active in the Patriot Guard in Rapid City, dedicating their lives to serving others. Jay served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1968 to 1973. He was a member of several law enforcement agencies in Texas during the late 1960's and early 1970's including the Austin Police Department. He became qualified as an Emergency Care Attendant and Medical Technican in the early 1980's and received the Texas Department of Health Texas EMS Citizen Award in 1999 after saving the life of his 22 month old grandson. He and his wife Molly, son David and daughter Mariah were part of the livng history museum at Pioneer Village in Gonzales TX during the late 1980's and early 1990's. After moving to Rapid City SD., Jay and Molly became active in the Children's Miracle Network, Kid's Day America, Regional Rehabitation Institute Christmas day visits, the Patriot Guard Riders as well as "Box Elder Bash" events for the children of Box Elder.
He is survived by his sister Jeanne Parsons, children Amy Branton of Austin TX, Mariah Schroeder of Yorktown TX, David House of Rapid City SD, and Julie Schatte of Giddings TX, and several grandchildren.
