Sir Geoffrey Wedgwood Harrison GCMC, KVCO was the son of Maud Winifred Godman and Commdr. Thomas Edmund Harrison. Geoffrey Harrison was educated at Winchester and King's College, Cambridge. He resigned on 21 October 1932 the Foreign Service and was employed in Berlin and Tokyo. Geoffrey Harrison married in 1936 Amy Catherine Clive.
From 1941 to 1945 he was Botschaftsekrtetär at the Foreign Office in the Department of German Empire. From 1945 to 1947 he was Counsellor in Brussels . In the 1950s, he was Assistant Deputy Minister in the FCO.
From first October 1956 to 1958 he was ambassador in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil. From the 3rd November 1958 to 1963 he was ambassador in Tehran , Iran. From 1963 to 1965 he was Deputy Vice Minister in the FCO From August 1965 to 1968 he was ambassador in Moscow, Soviet Union.
