Son of Johusea Wages & Martha Vallandingham of Baltimore County, Maryland. JAMES married MATILDA WELSCH DRAKE, daughter of SAMUEL DRAKE & CATHARINE SHARP of Morris Township, Knox County, Ohio on June 03, 1848 in Fredericktown, Knox County, Ohio. James Jackson Wages was a Mason, member and treasurer of Thrall Lodge Number 170, Fredericktown, Ohio. Thrall Lodge was chartered on 18 October, 1849 and the first officers listed were: Chaney Hill, T.V. Parke, J. Wages, Treasurer.
