Singer. Born Andrew Roy Gibb, he was an 1980s pop icon and musician. His three older brothers formed the Bee Gees singing group, and Gibb was considered to join them before he chose to go his own way. He first appeared with the short-lived band Melody Fayre. As a solo artist he had three consecutive number one hits with "I Just Want to Be Your Everything", "(Love Is) Thicker Than Water", and "Shadow Dancing". This was the first time a male solo artist had three consecutive number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100. He also released three albums: "Flowering Rivers" (1977) and "Shadow Dancing" (1978) went Platinum, and his last, "After Dark", went Gold. His later career included making TV appearances as a guest star. Gibb died five days after his 30th birthday from myocarditis.
