Robert J. "Bob" Niehaus, 68, of the town of Farmington, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, June 1, 2009.

He was born on November 9, 1940, in Marshfield, the son of Norbert and Mary (Bock) Niehaus, and on July 9, 1960, he was united in marriage to Barbara Wampler at St. John of God Catholic Church in Marshfield.

The couple had made their home in the West Bend area since 1964, when Bob began his employment with Level Valley Dairy. Over the years he performed all phases of work from maintenance, product development to lab testing. He retired in 2004 after 40 years of service.

Bob was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in St. Michaels. He had a lifelong passion for hunting and fishing, activities he had enjoyed since the age of nine. He enjoyed many accomplished archery hunts and fishing trips across North America and Canada with good friends and family. Bob was best known for his lifelong involvement in the archery program at Newburg Sportsman's Club where many friends were gained and stories shared. Bob's grandchildren will greatly miss fishing and making popcorn balls with Grandpa. Bob will be deeply missed by his wife, his family and by all who knew him.

Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Barb; four children, William (Tracy) Niehaus of Mercer, Dawn (Steve) Baker Hartman of Midland, Texas, Bonnie (Tim) Schladweiler of West Bend and Doreen (fiancé, Joe Messerli) of DePere; five grandchildren, Brenna and Lauren Schladweiler, Jim Niehaus, Karissa Devroy and Carly Baker; his mother, Mary Niehaus of Marshfield; two sisters, Jeanne Ticknor of Wisconsin Rapids and Nancy (Dale) Demary of Au Sable Forks, New York; four brothers, Ken (Gale) Niehaus, Dan Niehaus, John (Pam) Niehaus and Ray Niehaus all of Marshfield, other relatives and many friends.
