James D. Latimer
James D. Latimer, 72, of New Alexandria Rd. 3, died Thursday at his residence. Born Nov. 24, 1906, in Derry Township, he was the son of the late William C. and Lulu Dunlap Latimer. A retired milk hauler and dairy farmer, he was a member of the Community United Presbyterian Church, New Alexandria; Acacia Lodge No. 355 F and AM of Blairsville; the Pittsburgh Consistory; Syria Shrine; Westmoreland Forest No. 77 Tall Cedars of Lebanon and was a life member of the New Alexandria Volunteer Fire Department. He was president of the New Alexandria Union Cemetery Association. He was a member of Abrasive Engineer Society and Lesco Employee Relief Society. Surviving are his widow, Mary Elliot Latimer; one daughter, Mrs. William O. (Mary Lu) Watt of New Alexandria, Three sons, James D. Jr. of Greensburg, Thomas W. of New Alexandria and Roy E. of Youngtown, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, and two brothers, Wilbur C. of Blairsville and William K. of New Alexandria. Family will receive friends from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the M. Wallace Felton Funeral Home, New Alexandria, where services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday. Entombment will follow in New Alexandria Union Cemetery. Members of Acacia Lodge No. 355 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Saturday to conduct services. Masonic services will be held at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
