Mr. Batiste passed away Saturday November 9, 2013 in his residence.
Albert was born in Mansura, LA. on June 8, 1923 to Clara and Louis Batiste and lived in Marksville, LA.. He worked for the City of Marksville for over 30 years and retired at the age of 83. He was a life long member of Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville, LA. and a long time member of the Knights of St. Peter Claver, Holy Ghost Council 169.
He was preceded in death by a son Donald Jerome Batiste, Sr.,; his parents Louis and Clara Batiste; two sisters Bertha B. Trust and Louise B. Barbin and two brothers Bascum Batiste and Alton Louis Batiste.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 64 years Agnes Batiste of Marksville, LA.; one son Albert Batiste, Jr. (Rose) of Marksville, LA.; five daughters Audrey B. Day of Alexandria, LA., Geneva B. Lavalais (Russell) of Houston, TX., Bernadine B. Castleberry (Louis) of Houston, TX., Elizabeth B. Leviege (Albert) of Marksville, LA. and Patricia B. Alexander (Michael) of Alexandria, LA.
Visitation will be on Saturday November 16, 2013 from 8 AM until service time at Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Marksville, LA. A rosary will be held on Saturday morning at 10 AM.
Arrangements under the direction of Kilpatrick's Rose-Neath Funeral Home of Marksville.
