ABBOTT, BETTY LOU - age 77 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at her home. She was of the Baptist faith. Preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Walter Abbott; parents, Josie and Tom Walker; sister, Anna; brother, Jerry. She is survived by two children, Eddie Abbott and Mary Lou Long; several grandchildren, Angela, Bryan, Lance, Charlie, and Ashley; great-grandchildren, Shane, Isaiah, and Zachary; three brothers; four sisters; caregivers, David and Donna Waler; and a host of friends. A funeral service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Rose Mortuary officiated by Reverend Clyde Abbott, Jr. Family and friends will meet at 12:45 p.m. Thursday at Abbott Hollow Cemetery in Wears Valley for a 1:00 p.m. interment service. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Wednesday prior to the funeral service at the mortuary. Online condolences may be extended at www.rosemortuary.com.
