In the 1910 census for Coffee County, Tn. the Adams family consists of John P. (age 55), wife Emma (age 38 from Mississippi), children John and Clark and servants Mattie France (age 30) and Willie France (age 8).

During the 1920 census for Coffee County, Tn. Mr.Adams is enumerated living in his brother's household John P. Adams Jr. and his brother's wife Lois along with their father John P. Adams (widowed, age 65, from North Carolina, parents from Virginia).
