Janette A. Garske was born on May 26, 1926, to Reinhold "Podge" L. and Johanna (Quist) Garske, in Omaha, Nebraska.
The family lived in Omaha, and Janette attended Franklin Grade School and graduated from Technical High School. After graduation in 1944, she worked at United Benefit Insurance Company, and later for United States Fidelity and Guaranteed Insurance Company.
On May 17, 1953, she married Boyd E. Wood.
In 1967, Boyd got a job with Ashgrove Cement Company, and the family moved to Kansas City. They lived there until Mr. Wood's death in 1989, when Janette moved back to Blair.
Janette A. Wood, 87, of Blair, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Community in Blair, Nebraska.
She is survived by her son, Larry (Sandy) Larson Sr., 3 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Community Chapel. Interment will follow in the Blair Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 7, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home.
Memorials are suggested to Good Shepherd Lutheran Community.
