William H. "Bill" Brooks, 64, of 1014 Regent St. NE, died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2004, in his home after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories. The Rev. William Harnish will officiate. Entombment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home from 5 to 8 tonight.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara; three sons, Brett and wife Patricia of Phoenix, and Bradley and Bruce, both of Cedar Rapids; and his cat, Tawny.
Bill was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Rib Lake, Wis., the son of Flora Brooks. He married Barbara J. Nolte on Jan. 28, 1961, in Newhall. Bill was a test technician at Rockwell-Collins for 35 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the Collins Amateur Radio Club and was an avid ham radio operator.
A memorial fund has been established in Bill's name.
