Alene Arnold, 81, died Thursday, May 5, 2016.

Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Christ Lutheran Church with the Rev. Joe Andrajack officiating. Arrangements are by Griggs-Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors, 5400 S. Bell St.

Alene was born July 17, 1934, in Quail. She was a wonderful, caring and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. Her family was very important to her. She was very strong in her faith she was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church.

Some of her hobbies included painting and growing many different kinds of Iris. She was a member of North Plains Iris Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Don Arnold; her parents; her sisters, Bernice McAnulty and Velma Mendez; and her brothers, Joe Daves and Jimmy Daves.

Survivors include a son, Steven Arnold and wife Irene; her grandchildren, Steven E. Arnold and wife Gladys and Adam H. Arnold; her sisters, Patsy Carnes and husband Ron, Mary Berry and Bobby Koening and husband Landon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to recognize Open Heart Home Amarillo Hospice of the Plains for all of the wonderful care and support that was given to Alene and her family during this time.
