He wrote numerous standards which included "I'm Going South" (1923), "Paddlin' Madeline Home" (1925), "When the Red, Red Robin Comes Bobbing Along" (1926) and "Side by Side" (1927). He also contributed songs for the Hollywood musicals "The Vagabond Lover", "A Lady's Morals", "Artistic Temper", "Aunt Sally", "Twentieth Century", "Road House", "Limelight", ‘Merry Go Round" and "She's For Me".
