W. D. SCARBOROUGH PASSED AWAY AFTER SEVERAL DAYS ILLNESS; FUNERAL HELD FRIDAY AFTERNOON
W. D. Scarborough, 75 years old, passed quietly away at his home near the high school building Thursday evening of last week at about eight o'clock. Mr. Scarborough had been sick for several days but his condition was not considered serious until a short time before the end came. His sudden death was a great shock to the family and friends.
Mr. Scarborough was born at Warren Arkansas, May 28, 1853. After he had reached the years of maturity, he was married to Miss Sarah Jane Ruffin. To this union, eight children were born, only two of which are now living, H. C. Scarborough of Broken Bow and R. O. Scarborough of Wright City.
Funeral services were held at the First Christian church Friday afternoon at 3:30 by the local pastor, the Rev. M. L. Dickey. Interment was made in the Baptist cemetery, (Crown Hill) beside his wife who proceeded him in death several years ago.
The News joins their many friends in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
