She was born in Bulloch County and moved to Savannah in her teens. She married
William W. Lee, Sr. on September 6, 1947. They shared 55 years together and were blessed with a family of five children. She was previously employed by Union Camp Corporation, as well as Belk where she worked for over 20 years. Martha Lee was a long time member of White Bluff Presbyterian Church, an active member of the Joy Sunday School class, and The Christian Women's Group. She was preceded in death by her husband, William W. Lee, Sr., her son, William W. Lee, Jr., her sister, Arlene Lanier, and her brother, LeeRoy Akins.
Survivors include sons, Wayne (Jenny) Lee, Walter (Caren) Lee, Jeff (Laura) Lee, and daughter, Jennie (Lonnie) Harn; grandchildren, Melissa Bennett, Courtney (Mike) Bolyard, Phillip (Natalie) Lee, Matthew Lee, and LeeAnna Harn; sisters, Sequel Fraser, Betsy (Donald) Adams; sister-in-law, Joan Akins; great-grandchildren, Mya Lee, Maddox Bolyard, and Mason Dowdy and several nieces, nephews, and cousins .
Visitation: Sunday, October 20, 2013 from 2-4pm at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.
Funeral Service: Monday, October 21, 2013 at the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks with Reverend Eric M. Beene officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
