Richard C. Toelke, 64, died at the Memorial Community Hospital in Blair after suffering an apparent heart attack at his home in Blair, on Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005.
Richard C. Toelke was born Aug. 29, 1941, in Omaha to Clarence and Anna (Hansen) Toelke. He graduated from Hooper High School with the Class of 1959. He entered the U.S. Navy on Aug. 21, 1959 and was discharged on Aug. 28, 1962.
He began working for Western Electric, now Lucent Technologies, in Omaha in 1964. He worked there until his retirement in 1999.
He enjoyed coin collecting, reading, old cars, games on the internet and was a history buff.
He is survived by his wife, sons and sister.
