*Recently (2019), a third great grandson (male Taylor) of Jeremiah Taylor tested his Y DNA to 111 markers (to haplogroup M-253). Subsequently, he tested for FGC10445, which resulted in a positive match. Further, with Y matches to descendants of John Price, at a Genetic Distance of 5 and 6), this indicates Jeremiah was not a Y DNA Taylor, and may have been the son of either John Price (ca. 1720-1784), or his brother, Mungo Price. Furthermore, this haplogroup is upstream from FGC41738, which is identifiable to a Benjamin Nicholson, in the 1700s, who was also a likely illegitimate son of either John or Mungo Price. It's worth noting that, in 1757, Mungo Price, brother to John Price, received a grant of 300 acres... property which was adjacent to the property of John Nicholson's 266 acres. Both Mungo and John Price had property bordering that of John Nicholson. Lastly, haplogroup FGC10445 is identifiable to the Meredith family of County Laois (see the FTDNA Meredith Queens County DNA Project), and the male Taylor test taker has matches, at Genetic Distance of 9 and 10, with Merediths. This suggests Meredith Price (ca. 1644), ancestor of John and Mungo Price, may have been named according to his father's surname. A roster of Captain Michael Reader's Company of Militia (from what is now Page County, Va) lists a Meredith Price, and Meredith Price, Jr., among a list of other Prices.
