He was born near Jacksonburg, Wood County, West Virginia. His parents were William A. and Rachel Hayes Shepard. A graduate of Grandview High School and wed Ruth Mae Kring of Gahanna, Ohio. He was an early (1928) aerial pioneer. His work included Curtis Wright in Columbus. He was a retired maintenance supervisor with Rodenfels Chevrolet Co in 1978. He was an active member of the Masonic lodges in Worthington and Saftey Harbor Florida.
He died Wednesday, 02 June 1999 at Skaalen Sunset Home in Stoughton, Wisconsin.
