Funeral services for Mr. W.G. "Grib" Monzingo, 70, were to be held at 10 a.m. today, Aug. 25, 2003, at the Rose-Neath Chapel with the Rev. Lynn Malone officiating and the Rev. Hank Hamilton assisting. Burial was to follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home.

Mr. Monzingo, a native of Minden and resident of Webster Parish since 1933, passed away Friday, Aug. 22. He retired from Western Electric in 1980 after years of service. He was a member of Lakeview Methodist Church and a veteran of the Korean Conflict.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Aura and Myrtha Monzingo and brothers, Buddy, Jake and Bob Monzingo.

He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Peggy Miller Monzingo of Minden; two sisters, Katherine Reeves and Mary Graham and husband Don Mitchell, all of Minden; two sons, Brian Odom and wife Vicky of Evergreen and Keith Odom and wife Susan of Choudrant; two daughters, Candy Richards and husband Dewey of Minden and Tina Puckett and husband Chad of Minden; grandchildren, Bill and Brian Keith, Katelyn Odom, Lane and Keeley Odom, Cassie Monzingo, Anna Grace Gardner, Abby and Alex Puckett; one great-grandchild, Jaden Whorton; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were to be John Wayne Craig, Richard Dunn, Billy Jake Reeves, Bill Odom, Brian Keith Odom, Lane Odom and Alfred Sanders.
