Mrs. Jessie Emerson, 601 Anson Street, died at her home at 5:30 Saturday afternoon following a heart attack. She had seemed in her usual health up to the time of her death.
Mrs. Emerson was born Jessie Martin, Nov. 20, 1877, at Steamboat Rock. When a grown woman she moved to Eldora and was married there to Charley (should be Roswell W.) Bixby. They were the parents of two children, Charles, Jr., died in 1933 and Harry Bixby, whose address is unknown here. She was divorced from Mr. Bixby many years ago and was married in 1924 in Marshalltown to Charles E. Emerson, who died four years ago.
She is survived by her son and one sister, Mrs. Dollie Phillips of Toledo, Ohio, and a niece, Mrs. Cora Stewart of Chicago, Ill. Who has already arrived here to arrange for the services.
The funeral will be held Tuesday afternoon at the Pursel funeral home in charge of Dr. Pieter Smit. Burial will be in Riverside.
