He was a machinist.
Enlisted May 14, 1898 and honorably discharged October 14, 1898. Served in Company F, 2nd. Regiment, New York Infantry in the Spanish War. Co F was also known as the 37th Separate company of Schenectady also known as the "Washington Continentals"
Aug 29, 1898, Field Officer's Court, Absent Without Leave, not tried. Sick in quarters from June 14-16, '98, inclusive in the line of duty. In the settlement for clothing the sum $14.59 the total value of articles issued him by the state. Furlough Sept 15 to Oct 14, 1898.
Fines $10, he was sentenced to 10 days confinement at hard labor July 8, 1898 by Lt. Col. J.H. Lloyd at Field Officers' Court. Absent without leave Aug. 29, 1898.
