LONG ILLNESS PROVES FATAL
P. C. Stevenson, 62, Dies Sunday

Peter C. Stevenson, 62, Baltimore & Ohio railroad conductor and an employe of that railroad for 36 years, died at 4:30 p.m. yesterday at the family residence at 210 East Eleventh street, Dover, after being ill for three and a half months with kidney disease. Mr. Stevenson several weeks ago was brought home from Union hospital after undergoing treatment there to prolong his life which has been in the balance since the onset of his illness.

A resident of Dover for the last nineteen years and a former resident of Uhrichsville, he was born in Dunfarlin, Scotland, April 1, 1874. With his parents, the late Justice of the Peace John and Mrs. Ann Cook Stevenson, Barnhill, he came to America 51 years ago.

Active in Lodge Circles
Mr. Stevenson was a member of Dover lodge, No. 975, B.P.O. Elks, Dover and of Tuscarawas lodge, No. 59, F.& A.M., Dover, and of Tuscarawas chapter, Royal Arch Masons and Tuscarawas Council Royal & Select Masters of the Masonic order in New Philadelphia.

Mr. Stevenson was married in 1897 to Malinda Traschel. Surviving are the widow, one son, Peter J. Stevenson, Dover; four grandchildren; five brothers, John and Archie, both of Uhrichsville; Robert, Tuscarawas; William, Barnhill and David, Skagway, Alaska, conductor of the Alaska Short Line railroad.

Funeral services will be conducted at the graveside in Maple Grove cemetery Dover. The Elk ritual for the dead will be observed at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the residence. The Toland Funeral Home, Dover, has charge of arrangements.
