Raymond William Hoeneman, 86, of Fremont, formerly of Arlington, died Friday, Oct. 18, 2013, at Arbor Manor.

Services were Monday, Oct. 21, 2013, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Arlington. Interment was in St. Paul's Cemetery.

Raymond William Hoeneman was born Aug. 30, 1927, to William "Bill" and Olga (Schmidt) Hoeneman on a farm north of Arlington.

He was baptized Sept. 18, 1927, and confirmed May 9, 1943, into the Christian faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church north of Arlington, where he also attended school through 8th grade.

He then helped on the family farm and lived there until October of 2008. He had since made his home at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

He enjoyed all aspects of farming: the cows, pigs, harvest and the cats and dogs.

His pastimes included fishing at different lakes with his buddies, taking trips, playing cards and spending time with family and friends. He especially enjoyed walking down to the bridge almost every day and making sure all was well.

Mr. Hoeneman was always content with what he had. That contentment made him a Godly example to all who knew him. He lived his whole life with little of the earthly possessions, but he left this life with contentment and peace.

He is survived by brother Elmer Hoeneman of Omaha; sister and brother-in-law Florence and Jerry Kuss of Holdredge; sister-in-law Ruth Hoeneman of Winter Springs, Fla.; and his much-loved nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins and a host of friends.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Wilma Schafer and Elna Hoeneman; brother Marvin Hoeneman; brother-in-law Curtis Schafer; sisters-in-law Ione Hoeneman (Oerman), Elnora Hoeneman (Taylor) and Andrea Hoeneman; niece Brenda Kuss and nephew Mark Schafer.

Memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arlington.

Dugan Funeral Chapel of Fremont was in charge of arrangements. Cards and condolences may be sent to Dugan Funeral Chapel, 751 N. Lincoln Ave., Fremont, NE 68025
