UPDATE OCTOBER 2014: Pilgrims Rest Cemetery placed two "Unmarked Graves" monuments inscribed with names of persons buried somewhere within this cemetery without markers. The monuments are near the flag pole in the middle of the old hill. Handmade blocks will be removed since this inscribed monument has been placed in the cemetery.

3/19/2016 - Thank you, Jim (#47999067), for sharing notes. The son of Jim Adkinson and Lizzie Poore lived his life as Adkison. Henry James Adkison likely placed the obituary for his mother. These are descendants of a gg grandfather, John Francis Atkinson. John's surname has the support of an 1825 marriage announcement for his parents, father's census through 1850, and the birth of John and three of his four siblings recorded in a Family Bible held by his mother's family. John never learned to read/write, so almost every document of his life after 1850 has a different spelling. As a result, descendants are using five variations; Atkinson, Adkinson, Atkison, Adkison, and Adkerson. There are instances of families of brothers in the same cemetery with different variations. I've sent an auto edit to link Jim Adkinson to his parents. His father's death certificate and other records show he went by Adkinson, but is buried in an unmarked grave; cemetery stated on death certificate. His mother's monument states Adkison.
