Houston Chronicle, October 6, 2005:

Brenson L. "Bud" Abbott, Sr., 81, of Meadows Place, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2005. He was born January 10, 1924 in Van Orin, Illinois to Ernest Abbott and Gertrude Randall Abbott. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII and was then employed by Entex for 39 years. He was a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers and the Texas Society of Professional Engineers.

Bud is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Gertrude Abbott; and son, David Thomas Abbott.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lillian Abbott; sons, Brenson Abbott, Jr. and wife, Florence, Michael B. Abbott and wife, Renetta, Byron P. Abbott and wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Bruce Abbott, William Abbott, Jason Abbott, Brandy Abbott, Derek Abbott, Heather Batchelder, Tommy Abbott, Chrissy Abbott; great-grandson, Dylan Batchelder; along with numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P. M., Friday, October 7, 2005, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, Texas. Interment will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg.
