Harold B. Whitehead of Knoxville, age 87, passed away on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the University of Tennessee Medical Center. He was the son of the late Noah Bunyon "Bun" Whitehead and Sarah Lela Caylor Whitehead. He was preceded in death by his brother Glenn Whitehead and sister Mary Ila Leamon. Harold was born in Townsend, TN and attended high school in Maryville, TN, before graduating from Etowah Tennessee High School. He then attended Tennessee Wesleyan College and graduated from Bowling Green, Kentucky Business University. He then served in the United States Army Air Corps during the later part of World War II. Harold worked as a CPA with Ernst and Ernst Accounting firm in Knoxville before becoming Director of Finance for the University of Tennessee-Knoxville until his retirement. He was a former member of Arlington Baptist Church and later Central Baptist Church, Bearden where he served as Treasurer and Deacon. He recently became a member of Second Presbyterian Church. Harold also served for many years as treasurer of Riverbend Homeowners Association and Craig Cove Homeowners Association. Harold's hobbies included barbershop singing, woodworking, sailing and being a private pilot.
