Commiskey man dies in wreck

A Commiskey man died Friday evening in a one-vehicle accident in Commiskey.

Clint Robert Scroggins, 34, was pronounced dead Friday after the crash resulted in head trauma, according to information from the Dove-Sharp and Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Services, which is in charge of arrangements.

No other information about the wreck was available this morning.

Clint Robert Scroggins, 34, of Commiskey, died Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, in Commiskey.

He was born May 22, 1979, in Madison, to Kathleen Smith and Richard Scroggins. He was a 1998 graduate of Jennings County High School and received his electrical certification degree from Ivy Tech Community College Southeast at Madison in 2011. He owned Scroggins Lawn Service from 2001 to the present. He was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church. He enjoyed landscaping and basketball.

He is survived by his fiancee, Ronda Kopp of Commiskey; one son, Jonathon Kelly of Farmville, Va.; his parents, Dick Scroggins and wife Kathy of Commiskey and Kathy Sizemore and husband Daryl of Madison; three brothers, Kyle Schmalz and Dalton Sizemore, both of Madison, and Blake Scroggins of Commiskey; three sisters, Stacie Mason and Kristan Schmalz, both of Madison, and Richanda Hahn of North Vernon; and his grandparents, Robert E. Smith of Madison, and Bob and Irene Engle of Paris Crossing.

The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Dove-Sharp & Rudicel Funeral Home and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Burial will be in the First Marion Baptist Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today from 4 to 8 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Jennings County High School Basketball Program.
