"Mrs. Addie Minnie Wellborn, 62, died at 9:25 a.m. today at her home at 2208 Belmont.
Death followed a period of failing health which started about the first of the year. She underwent an operation in February. Her condition had been critical for several weeks.
Addie Minnie Shinn was born Jan. 26, 1885, at Hermitage, Mo. At the age of two years she moved to Kirksville, Mo., where she grew to womanhood. She was married there to Ivy Glenn Wellborn on April 28, 1901.
They came to Parsons in 1914 and Mr. Wellborn was employed at the Katy shops. He died Jan. 10, 1934. Following his death she was employed as a cook at the Parsons Old Ladies home until ill health forced her retirement last December.
She was a member of the First Methodist church.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lloyd Mathis and Mrs. Ted Bayless, both of Parsons; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Joe Evans, LaPlatte, Mol, ande Mrs. Carlie Bailey, Kirksville, Mo.; three brothers, Wayne, Otto and Johnnie Shinn, all of Kirkwood, Mo.; and several nephews and nieces. Three children preceded her in death.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Rude Funeral home, conducted by the Rev. A. F. Bramble. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn.
The body lies in state at the funeral home."
