CANDETO Joseph Franklin "Frank" Candeto passed away on September 6, 2005. Frank retired in 1977 from General Motors Parts Division after 38 years of service. Born in Savannah, Georgia, he grew up in Jacksonville and was a 1940 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. He was president of the 65th year reunion committee for the Class of 1940 as well as active in the Andrew Jackson Fellowship. Frank was a former Scoutmaster of Troup 222 at North Shore Christian Church; an avid golfer and bowler; and a long-time University of Florida supporter as a member of the Gator Club of Jax and a former Gator Booster.

He is pre-deceased by Lila, his wife of 57 years; his parents, Joseph and Mary Candeto; his sister, Victoria Brooks; and his brother, Vernon Candeto.

Surviving are his children, Janice DuBose (Elkin) and Joe Candeto (Vickie), Altlanta; six grandchildren, Jason Hamilton (Sherri), Lesley Hamilton, Jacob Hamilton (Cassandra Gallagher), Stephanie Gaskill (Nick), Melissa Mayhall (Mike), and Susan Brooks (Robert); eight great-grandchildren, Samantha and Kendall Hamilton, Hannah and Hayley Gaskill, Emily Cox, Mayson and Jeffrey Brooks, and Brit Gallagher; his sisters, Elizabeth Whitworth, Dorothy Goff, Evelyn Tucker, and Camille Dill; sister-in-law Helen Candeto; many loving nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, extended family; and devoted friends.

Family visitation will be Friday, September 9, 6-8 p.m. at Town & Country Funeral Home, Riverside Memorial Park, Normandy Blvd. Services are Saturday, September 10, 10 a.m., Starratt Road Christian Church, 2311 Starratt Road with Allan McMillan, Minister officiating. Burial will follow in Riverside Memorial Park.
