Born in East Smithfield she was the daughter of Frank and Marian Cleveland Wright. She spent her entire life in the East Smithfield area.
She was the widow of Charles M. Ayres, who died in 1974. She worked at East Smithfield Farms until she retired. Mrs. Ayres was a member of the East Smithfield Federated Church and was a devoted mother.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. June (husband Charles) Nichols; nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by son, Leland Robinson, in 1989. Funeral services were held at the Lowery Funeral Home in Athens on December 24 with the Rev. Morris Webster officiating and burial to be in Union Cemetery, East Smithfield.
