Mrs. Antonia (Smyt) Kowalczyk, widow of Valerian Kowalczyk of 799 South Street was pronounced dead on arrival yesterday at St. Luke's Hospital.
Born in Poland, she was a New Bedford resident for 54 years, and was a communicant of St. Hedwig Church and was a member of the Adam Mickiewicz Society of the Polish Roman Catholic Union.
Surviving are four sons, Edward of Mattapoisett, Walter of New Bedford, Joseph of Lakeville and John H. of Middleboro; two daughters, Mrs. Stephanie Sylvia of New Bedford, and Mrs. Stasia Caroline Blanchette of North Dartmouth, and 13 grandchildren.
