Ira J. Light, for twenty-five years engaged in the livery and horse boarding business, died at 1:30 o'clock this morning at his home on North Tenth Street. He had been in failing health for some months suffering from a complication of diseases, and a week ago was suddenly stricken with nervous prostration. He grew steadily worse until this morning when he passed peacefully away. The deceased was born at New Market Forge, this county, the son of John L. Light, who died several years ago. The sons spent the early part of their career in assisting their father in operating the forge, and came to Lebanon in 1886. Ira J. Light then spent several years teaching school, and about twenty-five years ago entered the livery and boarding stable business in which he continued up to the time of his death. Mr. Light was a Republican in politics, and for several years acted as secretary to the Lebanon Board of Health. He was a genial fellow who was intensely popular, and his death has brought sorrow to many friends. He passed his 49th birthday anniversary last January. He attended the First United Evangelical Church, and was a member of the Fireman's Aid and the Woodmen of America. The deceased leaves his wife, nee Elizabeth Fisher, and a son, Charles Light, by a former marriage, and a step daughter, who before her marriage was Lucetta Bollman, who now resides in Pittsburgh, and a step son, Robert Bollman. Grant, Albert G., and Harvey Light, all of Lebanon, are brothers, and Mrs. Fred H. D. Heilman, of 551 Weidman Street is a sister. The mother, Mrs. Eliza Light, died six weeks ago.
