LAWRENCE - Tom Keena Monahan, 85, formerly of Lawrence, died Thursday morning in the Michigan Veterans Facility, Grand Rapids, where he had been a patient for the past year. He was born July 28, 1892, in Detroit, and was a veteran of Worldl War I. Mr. Monahan had been a flying instructor at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas during World War II.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Sewell (Pat) Mason, Lawrence; five grandchildren.
Friends may call this evening at the Sisson Funeral Home, Lawrence. Graveside rites will be held at 9:30 A.M. Saturday in Hill Cemetery, Lawrence.

Tom Keena Monahan, 85, died Thursday morning, November 17, at the Michigan Veterans Facility in Grand Rapids, where he had been a resident for the past year and a half. Mr. Monahan was born in Detroit, July 28, 1892, son of Joseph and Mary Jane (Keena) Monahan. He was a former resident of Detroit and Punta Gorda, Fla. and more recently of Lawrence. He was a World War I veteran and was a flying instructor at Kelly Field, San Antonio, Texas during World War I. He was a member of Hess-Eastman American Legion Post, 174, Lawrence.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Sewell (Pat)Mason of Lawrence and five grandchildren.

Friends were received at the Sisson Funeral Home, Lawrence, Friday evening and graveside services were held Saturday at 9:30 AM at the Hill Cemetery, Lawrence, with the Rev. Charles Smith, of the Immaculate Conception Church of Hartford, Officiating.
