Kathleen A. (Zawasky) Holiday (1947 - 2013) Obituary
LORAIN - Kathleen A. Holiday (nee Zawasky), 66, of Lorain, died unexpectedly on Sunday, October 13, 2013 in the emergency room at Mercy Regional Medical Center in Lorain.
She was born January 4, 1947 in Lorain and had been a lifelong Lorain area resident.
Kathy was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Lorain. She enjoyed spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years Frank Holiday, children Nancy (David) Strauser of Lorain, Frank (Alyssa) Holiday of Concord, Susan (Robert) Basnett of Strongsville and Jennifer (James) Derk of Elyria, 10 grandchildren, sister Jeanette (Michael) Holp of Amherst and brother Joseph K. Zawasky of Sarasota, FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Helen Zawasky (nee Zehel).
The family will receive friends Wednesday 4-8 p.m. at the Gluvna-Shimo-Hromada Funeral Chapel, 3224 Broadway Ave, Lorain. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral chapel followed by the mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 1454 Lexington Ave, Lorain. The Rev. Lawrence Martello, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Amherst, will officiate. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery in Lorain.
