Capt. John Oliver, Sr. was the son of William and Ann (Durham) Oliver, Sr. He was the husband of Mary (Beaman) Oliver. They were married in 1746. Mary died April 6, 1812. John immigrated to America in 1736 and settled east of Petersham Road, Athol. He served during the Revolutionary War.
