Betty Ann (Pat) Owenby, age 82 of Halls, entered her eternal home in heaven on Monday, February 21, 2011 at Mercy, St. Mary's. Pat accepted Christ as her personal savior as a child. She was a Member of Salem Baptist Church for over 50 years, having served as WMU director, Sunday School worker, and working in many Vacation Bible Schools. She was preceded in death by her husband of sixty years, Eugene (Gene) Owenby, son, Dan Owenby, sister, Evelyn Bailey and parents, Dan and Anna (Brandon) Fulks. She is survived by son Fred (Bobbie) Owenby-Knoxville and daughter Anita Owenby-New Hampshire. Grand-daughters: Tami (Joe) Pratt-Knoxville, Sheri (Erin) Percell-Singapore, Christi (Rick) Eastridge-Arkansas, and Laurel Owenby. Great-grandchildren: Zachary Pratt and (fiancé Meredith Norris), Taylor Pratt and (girlfriend Danielle Smiddy), Isaac Pratt; Hannah, Adam and Owen Percell; Ian, Eli and Katie Eastridge,. Daughter-in-law Lanell Owenby. Very special nieces; Gibbie Keiser (fiancé Rob Brady) and Betty Catherine Ward and great-niece, Shelby Deck. A dear friend, whom she loved as a daughter, Anh Ha Lam. She leaves many other loving cousins, relatives, and friends. She was a very loving mother, Granny, G.G., Aunt, relative and friend. She served as Past Worthy Matron of Starlite OES and was now a member of Areme #446 OES. She worked for Baums Florist and Halls Flower Shop. She loved making Birthday and Wedding Cakes and working with flowers. Services 2:00 pm Saturday Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel Dr. Phil Young officiating and Rev. Irby Russell reading the Scriptures. Interment service to follow at Woodhaven Memorial Gardens. The pallbearers will be: Phil Babely, Lynn Clemons, Ray Garrett, Curt Holbert, Bill Love and Zachary Pratt. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Salem Baptist Church, 8201 Hill Road, Knoxville, TN 37938. The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 26 from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. at Mynatt Funeral Home Halls Chapel.
